2009 ACURA TSX |
| Big changes have been made to the body and chassis of the new TSX, starting with a closed-channel, cross-braced roof and a stronger rear bulkhead for increased rigidity. Inside frame rails also are featured as an Acura first, helping to smooth the underbody aerodynamics for improved fuel economy and reduced noise. The TSX has been made larger in nearly every dimension: a 3.0-inch increase in width, 2.6-inch increase in track, 1.3-inch increase in wheelbase, and 2.4-inch increase in overall length give improved handling, greater ride comfort, and more interior space. All-new dampers feature dual-mode technology, allowing more precise performance at both low and high speeds, while adjusting on-the-fly to compensate for changes in driving style and road conditions. |

2009 ACURA TSX |
| In the name of safety, Acura's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, introduced for the first time to the TSX. This will provide more efficient dispersal of frontal crash energy through load-bearing frame structures to spread the force of a frontal impact more effectively. Six airbags are standard on the TSX, and a new Active Headrest Restraint System is included for the first time to reduce the likelihood of neck and head injuries in the event of a collision. |

2009 ACURA TSX |
| the TSX will feature the larger of the two Euro engine options. That means a new 2.4-liter four-cylinder motor producing 201 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque up front, featuring five percent more torque and more mid-range power than the motor it replaces. These gains are attributed to a higher compression ratio for 2009, revised valve timing, and more efficient intake and exhaust setups. Two transmissions will be offered as standard equipment, giving buyers the option of a conventional six-speed manual or Sequential SportShift five-speed automatic with a manual mode and paddle shifters. |
